Crime of the Week 11/10/00

From January 1^st until now, Auto Burglary has been on the rise in Jackson & Madison County. In the past three months 215 auto burglaries have occurred. Items taken include cell phones, C.D. players and purses.

Here are a few tips that may keep you from becoming the next victim. Always take your keys and lock your doors. Never leave a purse or anything of value in the car, even under the seat. But most importantly, the thing to remember is to report anyone that looks suspicious hanging around a parking lot or in your neighborhood.

It is time for you to take a stand and fight crime.
